KTM Revealed 390 Adventure with New Colours & Tech Upgrades for 2022

Adventure bikes are slowly gaining ground in India in terms of popularity.

There are quite a few options on offer. The one that takes the proverbial cake home is the KTM 390 Adventure.

Why?

Well, the answer is enunciated in the sections below –

Overall Build Quality

For starters, similar to other KTM bikes in India, the 390 Adventure is a product that oozes quality. Even if the majority of the panels on the bike are made using fibre, they are not at all flimsy! Every panel on the bike is sturdy. They will continue to function as they should even if the bike has been on the trails a lot! In terms of panel gaps – the prevalent issue in most bikes available in India, the 390 Adventure doesn’t have any!

Comfort Factor

The bike has a tall stance as it comes with a seat height of 855mm. Hence, short riders will find it difficult to ride. The bike has a slim fuel tank. It makes it less intimidating when one has to put one foot down at stationary positions.

The seats for both the front and pillion riders are quite comfortable. The front seat is stretched towards the fuel tank a bit. This provides the necessary support to the thighs of the rider.

The bike has a wide handlebar and the footpegs are positioned neutrally. Put these two aspects together and one gets a bike that is comfortable to ride for long hours.

The bike also comes with a tall and sturdy visor. It keeps the rider shielded from getting thrashed by the winds at cruising speeds.

The suspension setup of the bike is tuned to offer a comfortable ride on the highways. On trails, the highway-tuned suspension offers sufficient traction on loose surfaces.

Overall Performance

The bike comes with a 373 CC, BS-6-tuned, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine that can belt out 43 BHP and 37 Nm. The gear ratios of the transmission are similar to the ones found on the transmission of the 390 Duke. In terms of clutch pull action, it is light. In terms of downshifts, they are precise and smooth!

Truth be told, the engine is incapable of unleashing its peak torque in the mid-range. But as soon as one gets past 4000rpm then the peak torque is achieved. Above 4000 RPM, the bike delivers peppy performance that can leave riders with an ear-to-ear grin!

The top RPM range of the bike is 9500 RPM. This allows enthusiastic riders to hit cruising speeds of 130 KMPH with ease! The bike comes with an electronically limited top speed of 165 KMPH!

Weight

The dry weight of the bike is 158 KGs. It is a well-balanced motorcycle. It is a nimble vehicle to manoeuvre in the city, on the highways as well as on trails.

Tech on Offer

The available tech on the 390 Adventure is quite comprehensive. For starters, the bike comes with a bi-directional quick shifter. The best part is that the system can be turned off.

The bike has dual-channel ABS which can also be turned off by the rider if one is feeling a bit adventurous. Although turning off the ABS is not at all advisable.

The bike also offers cornering ABS as well as traction control for swift manoeuvres. It is also equipped with a ride-by-wire throttle that is amazing to use especially when the rider is an enthusiast.
