The motor is fed by an enhanced fuel-injection system. The engine has a re-engineered dual overhead camshaft that allows the motor to produce more power.
The current peak power mapping for the motor is set at 39.4bhp which is unlocked at 8650 RPM. The peak torque mapping for the motor is set at 35Nm and it is available at 7000 RPM.

The updated Bajaj Dominar 250 will continue using the same 250cc, single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine which produces a maximum power of 26.6 bhp and a peak torque of 23.5 Nm. It features a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch for seamless power delivery.
The D250 also gets the USD telescopic front fork suspension from the D400. The D250 has also equipped with a rear mono-shock suspension. Dual disc brakes + dual-channel ABS also come as standard fitment.
The engine powering the D250 is a 250 CC, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. The motor has a precision-engineered Dual Overhead Camshaft that controls four valves. The motor is derived from KTM’s Duke 250. But unlike the Duke 250, the D250 entails Bajaj-patented twin-spark technology. The power mapping for the engine is set at 26.6bhp which is available at 8,500 RPM. The torque mapping for the engine is set at 23.5Nm available at 6,500 RPM.
